Hip Hop at Richardson Park Elementary School

In addition to performing throughout Delaware and the surrounding areas, Pieces of a Dream, Inc. members also work to train young dancers in various dance techniques.  Ashley Sullivan-Kirksey, Executive & Artistic Director of the company, began working with the 5th grade students at Richardson Park Elementary School (Wilmington, DE) in October.  The young ladies who participate in the program take a hip hop dance class every Monday, in lieu of their recess.  On March 22, 2009 the Richardson Park class was selected to perform at the Delaware Health Exposition, held at the Bob Carpenter Center.  The goal of the class is to encourage the young ladies to participate in physical activity and discover positive means of self expression.
