October & November Performances

Jazz in the House presented by Housing Opportunities of Northern Delaware (October 23) -- Pieces of a Dream Dance Theatre honored the jazz and blues great Nina Simone by performing an excerpt from "Love, Nina."  A love story gone wrong, "Love, Nina" demonstrates the varying phases of love:  infatuation, true love, and heartbreak and anger.  In addition to the performance, Jazz in the House also included a silent auction.  There were two different Pieces of a Dream, Inc. auction items:  a pair of tickets to the "Social Movement" concert and a basket that included a mug, a magnet, and some teas. Thank you to everyone who bid on our items!

Delaware Black Awards presented by DelawareBlack.com (November 14) -- Pieces of a Dream, Inc. presented three dances for this moving awards ceremony.  Consistent favorites from the "Goddess Cycle" suite, "Change Gonna Come" and "Four Women" impressed the audience members and awardees.  The members of P*D 2 also presented the premier of "I Have a Dream", an exerpt from "Riot-Us Behavior", the featured performance at the "Social Movement" concert.  Congratulations to all the awardees!

Jabberwock 2008 presented by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Wilmington Alumnae Chapter (November 15) -- The theme for this year's Jabberwock awards was "Dare to Dream."  Pieces of a Dream, Inc. presented several dances related to this theme.  To open the show, P*D 2 performed "I Have a Dream".  During intermission, the full company presented "Goddess Cycle" in its entirety.  Pieces of a Dream Dance Theatre closed the evening in praise with "Before the Throne."  Pieces of a Dream, Inc. would like to congratulate all the Jabberwock scholarship award winners!
